Los Altos is a quiet residential neighborhood in east Long Beach. The community is bounded by Clark Avenue to the west, Studebaker Road to the east, Willow Street and the 405 to the North, and Cal State University: Long Beach to the south. This is a family oriented area and is both walking and bicycle friendly. Schools in the area include Tincher Elementary, Stanford Middle School, and Millikan High School.
The Los Altos Shopping Center features a wide range of shopping and dining options. The neighborhood is next to El Dorado Park, which hosts many special events throughout the year, particularly in summer, and is home to the El Dorado Golf Course, Long Beach Nature Center, the animal shelter, and the duck pond.
Streets here are lined with trees and heavily shaded. Because of the university’s proximity, parking can sometimes be tight, particularly on street sweeping days due to the high number of local students.
